Little Man Doll Threads

This set was knit up as a last minute Christmas gift for my son, as he requested that his doll get some new clothes since he was naked. And of course, it was specified that I should make it. So off I went, happy to oblige since his sweater that I have been working on is no where near ready.

The pants were made using a pattern from Little Turtle Knits, and the sweater was improvised for this project. Since it turned out cute, I'll share what I did with it :)

Size 8/5mm circular or DPNs
2 Stitch markers
Apprx 100 yards (complete guesstimation :) worsted weight yarn, your choice of colour.
and of course a yarn needle to weave in ends.

Finished project measurements:
Woolies
Waist: 14", Rise 7", Inseam 4.5"

Hoodie

Shoulder to hem:5", Arms: 4.5", Hood top to shoulder: 5"

CO 60 stitches, place marker, join
Knit in k2,P2 ribbing for 1"
Knit in the round for 3 inches in stockinette stitch

Binding off for the arm holes:

At marker, bind off 4 stitches, knit 21, bind off 4, k 21, turn

You now will have a front piece and a back piece between the bound off stitches that will be worked seperatley. Work each of these pieces in stockinette stitch for 6 rows.

To re-join in the round:

Pick up yarn from front piece, and with WS facing, use the cable cast on method to cast on 4 stitches, turn the work back to RS and joining the cast on stitches and the next knit stitch of the back piece, continue knitting across the back to the next armhole. Turn to the WS and again using the cable cast on method, cast on four stitches. Turn to the RS and joining the cast on stitches and the next knit stitch from the front piece, continue knitting across the front. Work in stockinette for the next 2 rounds.

Shoulders and Neck:

At the beginning of the next round, k1, k2tog, k25, SSK, knit to marker.
Next round, k1 K2tog, k24, SSK, knit to marker. (Your decreases should be directly over where you decreased on the last round).
Next round, k1 K2tog, k23, SSK, knit to marker.
Next round, k1 K2tog, k22, SSK, knit to marker.
Next round, k1 K2tog, k21, SSK, knit to marker.
Next round, k1 K2tog, k20, SSK, knit to marker.

Split the collar for the hood:(If desired, colour change will happen here for a hood in a contrasting colour) The hood will be knit flat in rows instead of in the round.

Hood:
On the next round, begin the round as before by k1, k2tog, k19, SSK, then k8. Turn.
Row 2: Slip the first stitch as if to purl, purl to decrease, p2tog, purl across to next decrease, p2tog, purl to end of row, turn.
